Absolutely NOT the hardest job in the army.

Nothing frustrates me more than reading people's myspace pages or bumper stickers that say "army wife..toughest job in the military".

Ummm...how can anyone possibly say so? Last time I checked, we all got to sleep in beds with pillows. We generally sleep 6 - 8 hours a night. We get to eat three meals a day and drink coffee whenever we want it. We know when we will have access to the internet and can call our mothers, sisters, friends on a daily basis and chat for as long as we want. I can pick up my car keys and drive anywhere I feel like. I do not have to put on a helmet on my way out the door to work to ensure that I will not have brain damage from an exploding IED. I have never had to watch someone I care about get hurt, or worse, die. My stress is about normal things, like being stuck in traffic going holiday shopping at the mall. I do not have to worry about being attacked in a convoy going somewhere I never wanted to go in the first place. I get to be mildly annoyed when my daughter doesn't want to go to bed, but I have never had to feel the heartache of not being able to tuck her in for months at a time.

I am not trying to take anything away from military wives. It is an absolutely difficult thing to deal with and go through. My heart breaks talking to my sister in law daily, and she has dealt with far more and been far stronger than almost anyone (I love you Felice!), but she agrees with me about this a thousand percent.

Our lives are hard, of course there are. But there are far worse things to deal with. We are absolutely loved and supported. And we get the PRIVILEGE of being overwhelmed with pride by the things that our husbands accomplish and fight for.

I think that the toughest job in the Army is the people that have to clean out the toilets after mexican night at the dfac. That is a tough job
